Donut Wheel

So what does a college student do for entertainment around Huntsvegas? The answer: not much. The Huntsville mall (if it can even be called that) closes at an early 8:00pm, Starbucks shuts down at 10pm, and Hastings isn't even open until midnight. Why is Sbucks- in a college town of all places- not open 24 hours? Espresso at hand would be ideal for all night cram sessions, and a great spot to bring the laptop and hammer out that five page term paper you've been saving until the last minute. But no, Starbucks has enough income without capitalizing on the caffeine needs of SHSU students. However, the Taco Bell drive-in is open 24 hours if you ever want to satisfy your fourth meal craving. Ick.

What's a poor, insomniatic college kid to do? Eat at the Donut Wheel! It's located in the heart of downtown H-ville, and opens at 4am. The donuts and kolaches, as me & Kristin discovered, are yummmy! We sampled all varieties, ranging from chocolate iced to vanilla with sprinkles, and had some OJ and milk along with them. Most locals that come to the shop between 4-5am are in and out quickly... so we had our pick of seating from all the tables in the shop. My new favorite hangout spot if I'm up all night and need a recharge before heading to class is definitely the Donut Wheel. Cheap prices, a variety of delectables, coffee, and seating availability make the Donut Wheel ideal!
P.S. Bowling is also
great fun at Huntsville Lanes.
But not in a backbrace and sling!
